LINCOLN DOUGLAS NEWS:

BCFL Coaches and Competitors:

Welcome back to another season of BCFL competition in Lincoln Douglas Debate. In case some of you do not know me I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. I am the coach of the Winters Mill Speech and Debate Team from Westminster, MD and I serve as the Tournament Director for the Carroll County Debate League. I am excited to take over this position and look forward to building upon the groundwork already laid for LD Debate.

The BCFL has a strong LD foundation to build upon. Last year the league saw 3 LD competitors break to elimination rounds at the NCFL Grand National Tournament including one to the Quarterfinals. This speaks volumes to the work done by competitors and coaches and to the competitive level of our league.

As we progress through this season please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or suggestions. The event is only as strong as those engaged in it and can only grow with the collective expertise of all involved. Periodically I will be posting mass comments on this site within the “News” section. These are general statements observed from rounds and ballots that will beneficial to all competitors and coaches. Again, I look forward to a fantastic season and I will see all of you on October 2nd at City College.

Yours truly,

Jared C. Wastler

Assistant Director of Lincoln Douglas Debate
